Technical info on our Natural Sewage Treatment
Our Advanced Sewage treatment plant is a 3 stage system:
- Stage 1 - Primary Treatment (Worm tank)
- Stage 2 - Reed Beds
- Stage 3 - Final Gravel Filtration
- Total minimum fall through the system from inlet invert to outlet at 3rd stage can be as little as 1.5 meters.
- Discharge - filter is fitted on the oulet and low pressure dripper line for effluent disposal, via a controlled manifold with flushing valves.
These systems are lightweight and made of recycled plastic. The system can be carried by 2 men, enabling it to be installed behind houses etc which have limited access. They are a rotary moulded tank which makes these tanks strong and stress free. This system can be tailor made by increasing the size and number of parts used, the modular system can also be set up in many different ways to suit the clients requirements.
Our treatment system is designed to be gravity based (without power) no pumps, aerators, or electronic controls. The system has a single (one pipe) drainage inlet, ie all household sewerage flows down one pipe into the system. It can also be adapted to be used with pumps; either a 240V or 12V solar pump. The primary tank is able to be buried, placed under a deck or hidden in natural environment. Our system is organic based with 'Robust' worms and reeds. You can use most of your household cleaners down your drains (except strong ammonia based bleaches) and it will not damage this system or the organic matter.
Our system is installed by a registered drain layer, and the systems do require servicing. This would be 1 service per year by Eco Sewage and two 4 monthly services which can be completed by you as the client (another cost saving feature). We suggest that filters and drippers are checked monthly and cleaned when required. Easy and simple to do.
